Link Building Through Article Marketing – 7 Must Know Tips

Searching for inbound links?

Want to improve your ranking on Google? Are you looking for a solid, reliable method to consistently build large numbers of inbound links over time?

You’ve come to the right place. Read on…

I have been working on my website for three years now. When I started, I had no inbound links. I was getting traffic from MSN and a little from Yahoo but none from Google.

Today most of my traffic comes from Google. As you know inbound links are important in the Google “algorithm.” It was part of Larry Page’s thesis when he started his search engine experiment.

I’ve tried a lot of different ways to build links. And, after three years, I’ve concluded that the best method is publishing articles through places like Ezinearticles and Isnare.

1. Keywords

Go to SEO Book.com. You’ll find a free keyword tool. Play around with it. Find some keywords that are popular to your subject area. Use them for topics. Work the keyword in a number of times in the article. Use it in the headline.

2. Titles

Article titles or headlines are critical. One of my first articles that I published with Ezine had a very bland title. It got very few views and was published very few times. Then I read Rosalind Gardner’s “Super Affiliate Handbook” and everything changed. She has a great piece on creating interesting article titles. She calls it “The ‘Secret’ Ingredient Every Article Needs.”

Use numerals in the titles. For example, “8 ways to…” or “7 tips to….” And use words like “avoid,” “how to,” “tips” or secrets”. You can probably find some sources on the internet with ideas on headline writing.

Creating snazzy titles is “must know” information so don’t neglect it.

3. Use Proper Grammar and Punctuation

You want webmasters to pick up your articles and post them on their websites and blogs. They may be turned off by bad grammar or incorrect punctuation. Your article will reflect on their site. So make it look good. Use Microsoft Word or WordPerfect and keep the spell checker and grammar checker on at all times.

4. Proofread

James Michener used to say he was not a great writer but he was a great proofreader. After your article is finished, print it out. It is much easier to spot errors on the printed page. Get a red pen. Read the article slowly and carefully. Pretend you are someone else. A competitor, for example. She would find errors in your text. You can do the same. Fix them.

5. Article Submission

There are hundreds of places to submit your article. My current favorites are Ezinearticles.com and Isnare.com.

Ezinearticles has a minimum word requirement of 250 but is very strict about its editorial guidelines. I have published articles at Ezinearticles.com and each article gets a PR (page rank) 2 from Google. This is good. Very good actually. And Ezinearticles is basically the Harvard Law Review of article publishing.

Isnare.com has a minimum word requirement but is much more relaxed editorially. I find I can publish more articles for my time with Isnare even with the higher word requirement. With Ezinearticles I am continually rewriting to meet their strict standards.

There are many other article repository sites and you can find them with a simple search on Google.

6. Distribution

Just getting the article published in a repository is only half the battle. Some webmasters will pick up your articles from the repositories. But, ideally, you want the broadest possible distribution for your article because that way more webmasters become aware of it and publish it.

One way to do that is through “article announcement lists.” These are mostly Yahoo Groups. You can find them through a search on Yahoo. David Viney also publishes a list on page 159 of his very fine book “Getting to the Top on Google.”

For my purposes I have found I get the broadest possible distribution when I publish at Isnare.com. For a small fee ($2.00 per piece) they send the article out to gazillions of sites. And, I start noticing the inbound links multiplying more rapidly. So I pay the $2.00 and feel it is worth the money.

There are other methods of achieving broad distribution. There is software that Rosalind Gardner recommends and claims to use herself that does the same thing. It is rather pricey but if you are writing a lot of articles maybe it is worth the money

7. Resource Box

This is the area after the article where you can put your info. The article is your “give” and the resource box is your “take” as they say at Ezinearticles. There is a whole technology on how to write a concise effective resource box to maximize your return. You can find some great articles on it at Ezinearticles.com. Be sure to include one of the main keywords from your site in your link’s “anchor text.”

Conclusion

Article marketing can generate massive numbers of inbound links. A nice side benefit is that they will also bring you traffic. It takes some time to learn but it is a solid link building and marketing strategy.

Affiliate Marketing Success

Affiliate marketing success is one of the easiest ways to generate income online.

There are really only two things you have to do to get Internet Marketing working for you!

You have to find a good offer and then find the right customers to buy it.

In affiliate sales half of this (the big half) is done already! That’s a huge advantage.

So affiliate marketing boils down to getting people to see your affiliate link…click on it…see the offer…buy the product…and repeat.

Now…go find a good offer at Clickbank. Just get it done. Now you have something to sell.

And you have what is known at Clickbank as a “hoplink”. That’s your secure affiliate code that INSURES you get paid!

Now all you have to do is get people to your offer that are interested in your offer. I know that sounds simplistic…but…if you are selling “Horse leads” you want people who typed into Google “Horse leads”

That would be your keyword and that is how you “sort” your traffic.

How to do it?

Twitter Profile Branding

Twitter has become one of the most popular social networking sites today, overshadowed only by biggies like Facebook and MySpace. It is no wonder that many people are coming aboard Twitter to promote their business. As Twitter would say it, many entrepreneurs are Tweeting they way to online visibility and hence, success.

If you are on Twitter too, what you really need to have is a good Twitter profile and then you need to brand it. The first part is relatively easy and does not take much time. Everyone knows how to make a profile on a social networking website. Just be true to the details and do not go overboard with the hype or the sales pitch and it would count as a good business profile. There are various customizable options on Twitter itself. You could use these to make your profile look different. And if it is some real difference that you are hankering for, you could go for some patches and downloads that are compatible with Twitter. You could find these by conducting relevant searches on popular search engines.

You need to keep your business profile page different but at the same time subtle. Over-the-top does not work in today’s times, and that applies to Twitter profiles too.

But, what really takes time and effort is the branding part. Branding is where you are making your business visible. Real branding is when your business becomes popular not just on Twitter but even outside it. Remember that branding is not just about the colors that you use and the font that you use; it has more to do with the recall value of your business name itself. When you are on Twitter, Twitter business branding will refer to the way in which your Twitter account name appears and becomes popular.

There is much to be gained through Twitter business branding. A lot of enterprising folk are selling these in the same way they sell domain names. They build a profile page, brand it and when it becomes popular, they sell it for thousands of dollars. This takes some time and effort, but it does give a very rich dividend at the end of the day.

One way to go about Twitter business branding is to first establish a website on Twitter and then use the same look and feel as the corporate website. For example, if you have a business website that’s named http://www.xyz.com, you make a Twitter profile page that’s names http://www.twitter.com/xyz and then give this page the same appearance as the corporate page. This way, you are making your Twitter page an extension of your existing page.

The benefit of this is that people can search your Twitter page with your business brand name. They are able to find things more easily and also the recall value of your brand increases.

But you need to be quick about this. Time is of the essence. If you have a popular business that’s not on Twitter yet, someone might use your brand name on Twitter. This is a clear case of plagiarism, but you can’t help it once it is done. The best thing for you is to realize the importance of Twitter business branding right now and go about it when there is still time.

How to Publicize Your Site For Free

Once your website has been launched it should be viewed. And it is the number of viewers that justify the popularity of your pages. SEO is big business today and the sums involved are astronomical. Here I am detailing out a do-it-yourself method to herd traffic your site.

The process begins from getting your site listed with the major search engines including MSN, Yahoo and Google. Since the time required for the site to appear in their list is considerable, I normally use this period to increase the popularity of any site through an array of proven methods. This starts with link exchange. I normally search using similar keywords to find sites which are willing to add my link to their site in exchange for my readiness to put their links on my site. This enhances the accessibility of your site to more people.

Posting relevant articles that contain your link can blogs or directories in a sure method to attract visitors. But your postings should be rich and interesting enough to rouse the vendors’ interest to click on your link.

Then there is the hunters’ technique of luring traffic in to your pages. What I do is to start a new survey or a competition that include an attractive freebie or a prize to the winner/s. However it is not a must to announce any such awards. You may simply request people in a polite way to find the time to participate in the survey.

Adding a finishing touch by using signatures or customized stationary that contain your URL for all your correspondences including email should also be tried. A good marketer does not stop here. What about letting others know about your site during personal interactions? Since I am telling about methods that do not cost a penny, such announcements only add the number of visitors to your site.

SEOs place a lot of importance in building a good link popularity which reflects on the site’s ranking with the search engines. So before you set out on an optimization spree it is of utmost necessity to come to grips with all factors that relate to link popularity.

What is link popularity? It is the number of links that appear on other websites that direct traffic to your own site. The more popular you are with regard to the number of external links; your rankings with the search engines get boosted. Please bear it in mind that a good link popularity is only one among many factors that add to your ranking.

Then what is the need for concentrating on link popularity if other means are available to enter into the good books of search engines? In the web world, teeming with billions of websites that are facing cutthroat competition to be ranked in a high position with the search engines, you can not afford to turn a blind eye to even a tiny bit of help that will add to the overall outcome. And link popularity is not a method that can be taken for granted as one among many. If you look through the eyes of a search engine, things become clearer. Search engines are programmed to identify sites that have more back links and give them special treatment while considering the rankings for a particular set of keywords.

I never advise a link building orgy of submitting your URL on any link farm to increase the inbound links to your site. In fact, this method has all the likelihood of search engines keeping an eye on you as a prospective spammer. There are certain elements to be adhered to while building good link popularity.

a. Even if it may take some time, manual submission is better than an automated link exchange program.

b. Select only those sites that have content relevant to your own.

c. The above rule applies even to forum or review postings.

d. Selecting sites that are high ranked even if their relevance is less, is alright. This is because search engines are impressed by the quality of the sites from where your links originate.

Autoresponder Email Lists Software On Your Website

Autoresponder software is installed on your website by uploading the auto responder script to your site and by linking the ar script to the email account that goes along with that website. When you have a good email autoresponder installed on your website and its email account is included in the setup, you can then set up as many different named auto responders from that one ars control panel as many times as you want.

All of the autoresponders have their own signup forms and you can have the ar signup forms on as many different websites and webpages as you want. Each auto responder can have its own series of email messages to send out to its subscribers and email lists. Each time you set up a new ar it would just be done on the same website and email account but with a different ar name, such as; abc, 123, etc.

You can also set up new autoresponders on as many different websites and email accounts that you want to by installing the auto responder script onto those sites and then starting the rest of the ar setup for those sites. You can also have as many different named ars as you want on these websites.

After you sign in to the control panel for the autoresponder that is installed on one of your websites you can create as many new ars as you want to. On the control panel type in a name for each auto responder you’re going to set up and press submit. By repeating this step you can set up another new ar name. After you have set up as many email autoresponder names as you want, you would then just click on any of the ar names on the control panel that you want to work on and then you’ll be on the admin control panel for that autoresponder name.

The admin control panel is where you set up the header for your email messages; from name, from email, the redirect site url, which is the next page shown after someone signs up to your signup form. There will be a choice for whether to show an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each outgoing email message so that your subscribers always have that option available to them. There is a link you can press that generates the code for the signup form that you copy and paste into your webpages html. The signup form is linked back to the autoreponder that you are working on and to the email account of the auto responders website. With some email autoresponder software you can also add a file as an attachment to each email message.

The messages are also set up on the auto responder admin control panel. You can have 1, 2, 3, or as many messages as you want in the email message series. Each autoresponder you set up can have it’s own series of messages to go out when someone signs up to one of your signup forms. This way you could have a different set of messages for each websites or webpages new signups and for all of the autoresponder lists. Each email message has its own setting so you can type in the number of days between it, the previous message, and the next message. After someone signs up to one of your signup forms that is on your website or webpage they will receive the first email message in the email message series.

There are two problems associated with autoresponder software. The initial cost can be expensive and the ar script can be complicated and difficult to install. The more extra features that the ar software has the more it will cost and the more complicated it will be to install and maintain. You can find a full featured ar software without a lot of extra features for under $20. You pay for it once and then you own it.

The email autoresponder software should be easy to install and easy to work with. It should come with a step by step installation and users guide. The control panel should be well laid out and easy to use. The auto responder should be able to be installed on as many websites and with as many ars on each of those sites as you want, so that each auto responder can send out a different series of email messages to its subscribers.

As you build your autoresponder lists from your signup forms you’ll be able to promote your online business and websites with opt-in email marketing and email campaigns.

Using Social Media To Drive Qualified Traffic To Your Website

Social media is the utilization of online communities to promote sales, create business opportunities, and increase the exposure of a particular company. In today’s world, we spend more time online than anywhere else! Social media allows businesses to tap into the steady source of users that are registered through popular online communities. By reaching out to users through these web communities, companies can then create a rapport with the average consumer. Businesses can understand what their target audience is and how to fulfill their needs.

Popular social media sites that are usually targeted include Digg, StumbleUpon, http://Del.icio.us, Facebook, Twitter and many more. These sites give businesses the opportunity to keep in touch with the world and familiarize users with their brand name. Providing updates about various products, and latest advancements of a company, gives consumers something to think about. These updates can lead interested and curious users back to the company website to find out more information. Businesses can discover new target audiences that they hadn’t previously considered through this method of marketing. From analyzing the type of users who showed interest in their company, they can then alter their marketing techniques to effectively increase sales. Being linked to online communities will give businesses and their websites a steady flow of fresh traffic.

Companies interacting through online communities will maximize their number of back links which will help their SEO campaigns. The popularity of a brand name or company on a web community all depends on how much they can provide to their loyal consumers. The more you give, the more you will get in return. For example, a company promoting special offers, discounts, imagery, video and gaming entertainment, will be more popular than companies that merely register and provide a paragraph of information. The idea is not be as focused on selling and to be more interested on putting your customer at ease. By providing entertainment and information for your customer this will add a personal appeal to your brand name and they will be satisfied knowing that you’re not just trying to sell your product.

If you don’t know where to begin, using social networks to drive quality traffic to your website can be a confusing experience. It is important to first assess the quality of the community you want your company to be a part of and whether it will attract the right kind of consumers. If a community will not bring you quality traffic to your website then there is no point. If you have a website that sells dentures you definitely don’t want to waste your time joining a community catered to younger generations! Maybe a social network for 50+ would be more ideal? Once you have narrowed down the network websites right for your company to be affiliated with, you should then scope out if there is already a company profile existing. If this is the case, you will have to formulate a strategy to have your profile stand out from the rest.

Creating a profile through a social media network may not be something that will click right away. Social networking is definitely a trial and error method which will give you the results you need only by checking out what works for you and your business.

Here Are 3 Steps to Becoming an Internet Affiliate

There are 3 steps to this blueprint:

1. Setting up

2. Researching

3. Making Money

1. Setting up:

You can set up a Joe Buck’s account for free and that’s where you can get lists of products from successful businesses, so you can advertise them and make a commission off every single thing you sell.

Just go to Joebuck’s website and sign up as an affiliate. You can get a commission if you advertise their actual site, or you can get a “Hot List” of tons of products on there website to chose from.

A couple other affiliate sites that you need to have is “millnic media” or “ClickBank”. Millnic media is just like click bank, where their sites’ have a marketplace filled with products to advertise and they are also an internet BANK so every commissioned dollar of every sale will go in your account, that’s your money.

Those are the main sites you need to have to actually earn you a commission, and hold your money in an account for you to use. After you have those set up, you need a place to advertise them.

You can use your Ezine articles account to promote items. You can also promote on Yahoo answers. Isnare is another free article site. Those are just a few of the FREE ways to advertise products and services you can use as an affiliate marketer. The fastest and best way to promote and get things sold is by far Google AdWords. Google is the best, but can be expensive. If you know how to use it right, then you can make a fortune. You can’t just set up an account and post an ad and expect people to click and buy.

People might click, but not buy, which will cost you a lot of money or not even click from bad ads. I can show you how.

Yahoo answers is another free site. You answer questions and then post a link to what ever product you want to sell, and you can’t just post a link and not answer the question. That will get you kicked off Yahoo Answers. There is a great way to be successful.

Lastly, you want to set up a domain for each product you want to sell. I use Go Daddy, but any domain site will work fine. You will get a specialized link just for you from ClickBank, milnic, and joebucks so when anyone clicks on that link and buys that product you will get that commission and put money in your account. Those links are like 15 letters long and look very complicated for example (safelink09.maverick66.hop.ClickBank.net) and that doesn’t look pretty. you want to make a domain to link to this that looks nice. Make it relevant to what your selling like (www.LovelyGreenTea.com), and definitely make your domain a (.COM) and capitalize the first letter in each word.

Step 2 Researching:

After all those accounts are set up you can start researching. You want to look at the list of products on ClickBank, millnic, or joebucks that you would want to advertise. Look and see how much commission you get for each sale which can be organized from most to least on the marketplace to make it easier. And what is the most popular product that will sell well and make you money.

Research the main aspects on Google about the product you want to market so you can advertise affectively.

Go on Google an see what other ads are out there for your same product so you can make it different and set your ad apart from the rest.

Step 3 Making Money:

When you advertise on yahoo answers, you need to make 10 none sales posts and 1 sales post. That will grow your rating which people like to see and it will not get you kicked off the site. Answer a question and then in the reference box post your link. If that becomes best answer that will be their for ever and any one in the future that searches for that answer will see your link.

Keep growing your Google AdWords budget.

Watch the money roll in.

Pay Per Click – Tips and Strategies

Pay per click campaigns are something a lot of internet marketers do to get traffic to their web pages. Most anyone online who does this type of campaigning looks for ways to increase conversion and reduce minimum bids.

PPC in a Nutshell:

When you search for something online and see a sponsored ad, this ad is being paid for by someone who wants it displayed when certain keywords are searched upon. If you’re an internet marketer who targets the right keywords and writes a great ad, you are half way to making a sale.

The other half of the process happens when people get to your actual sales landing page. Writing great copy and converting browsers into buyers is something all internet marketers continually strive to improve upon. But the biggest battle, according to many, is getting the right traffic to the landing page in the first place.

By paying for your ad to be displayed at the right moments, you’ll have the potential to capture the attention of the people surfing the net who are interested in what you’re selling. Here are some helpful tips to make the most of your PPC campaign

PPC Software

There are several software tools on the market that can help you manage your ad campaigns. Timesaving tools like SpeedPPC can make a big difference in how much time you spend managing your campaigns. These tools can also help you extract reporting that helps you identify what’s working and what’s not so that you can fine-tune your campaign.

Learn about SEO

While PPC is different from organic SEO, knowing why it works and how it works can help you. Also, if you’re dominating the search engines organically and you have pay per click adverts as well, you’ve got a better chance of your prospects clicking through to your websites instead of your competitors.

Keyword Research

Part of what can make or break a successful payperclick campaign is the use of keywords. Go for the long tail instead of the short tail and spend time researching buying words versus browsing words. The right keywords can help you in a big way in terms of saving money and attracting targeted buyers

Writing the Ad

A good ad can be compelling to click. There are a lot of different techniques to help you find the right ad writing strategy. You might go for shock, you might go for curiosity, you might go for features and benefits. Whatever approach you take, you’ve got a small amount of space so being succinct is important.

Can you get rich from pay per click advertising?

Some do. Many don’t. What probably separates the winners from those who walk away lighter in the pocket and dismayed is research and tools. Learn all you can about what successful pay per click marketers do in their campaigns and try to think like a customer in terms of choosing keywords, writing ads, and writing landing page copy / sales letters. The more you know, the more successful you can be. Some pay a lot of money before achieving that coveted first sale but there are tips, resources, tools, and software packages that can shorten the learning curve and increase your success rate.
