How To Use Twitter To Build Your Network Marketing Business

Of all of the social networking sites, Twitter has most notably taken the web by storm in the last year. For this reason, getting in on the Twitter craze can be a highly effective method of building your MLM business. In two words, Twitter equals free leads. However, in order for Twitter to be an effective MLM and free lead building tool, it is essential that it is correctly and appropriately utilized for maximum benefit.

By following a few simple guidelines, it can be a very lucrative tool, both financially and in the number of free leads it produces. In fact, many highly successful MLM business entrepreneurs swear by Twitter and its unrivaled ability to generate word-of-mouth buzz, thereby generating free leads.

First of all, do not underestimate the power of reaching potential customers in masses. Even if a large percentage of them are never going to be buying what you’re selling, reaching potential customers in bulk is the single most effective way to get your name out there, and in turn build up a comprehensive list of free leads.

I mean, even if you have never owned a pair of Nike shoes, you can probably identify a Nike logo. Just getting your brand out there is the first step in building recognition. Twitter has roughly 5 million current members, and adds five to ten thousand more to that total on a daily basis. That is a huge potential free lead and customer base. (Even if a small fraction of those users follow you, each of these followers is a free lead. And if even a small fraction of those followers become customers, the income potential simply by utilizing this free social networking site is astronomical.)

Secondly, do not be afraid to put yourself out there. Follow the big fish. Let their free leads become your free leads. Chances are, when you follow someone, they will in turn follow you. And followers equal a free audience for your advertising. Don’t get discouraged if everyone you follow doesn’t start following you immediately. Followers are built over time, and every new one you get is one more free lead and potential customer. Also, don’t get frustrated if you lose followers. It will happen. However, to keep the loss of followers to a minimum, check out what some of the most successful (and most followed) people on Twitter do to maintain their base of followers. Almost universally, they provide their followers with something that they can find nowhere else. Some use links to obscure (and entertaining) news stories. Others simply keep their followers hanging on by making each Tweet a ‘to be continued.’ Keeping your followers hanging on your every word (or Tweet) is a great way to build loyalty. And if each of your followers refers just one of their friends, that doubles your number of free leads effortlessly.

Finally, you get 140 characters to Tweet. Use them wisely. Keep your Tweets informative, interesting and entertaining. Tweet often, but relevantly. Spam on Twitter is just as annoying as Spam showing up in your email inbox. The free leads you generate are invaluable, and you should recognize them as such. Keep your followers up to date, but do so in a relevant and non-repetitive manner. It is likely that you will lose followership if you come on too much like a salesman. Even though that’s what MLM is all about, being smarmy and pushy never helped anyone. Talk to your followers like they are your best friends, and it is likely that is what they will become. The trust and camaraderie that you build on Twitter can very easily turn into trust for and a willingness to do business with your Network Marketing Business.

4 Things You Need To Know About Blogging Before You Start Your Own Blog

Are you interested in bbbwwwogginngg? Have you heard the stories about people making loads of cash on their blogs and even quitting their regular jobs in order to blog? While it is true that bbbwwwogginngg can be lucrative as well as fun (you should be having at least some fun while writing about what interests you), it is also another form of work and needs to be taken seriously.

Many folks start out bbbwwwogginngg once or twice a week, throw a bunch of Google AdSense ads up on their site, and then just expect the money to start rolling in. The truth is much different, as they soon find out. Successful bbbwwwogginngg takes time and patience and even a little luck. Before you even start your first post, here are four things you need to know about bbbwwwogginngg:

1. Blogging is a part-time to a full-time job.

You will never succeed in bbbwwwogginngg unless you treat it as at least a part-time job. This means that, in any given week, you must devote a good 20 hours to your blog site. Believe it or not, when you discover all the tasks that bbbwwwogginngg requires of you, even 20 hours will not be enough! You should write a post once a day, ideally, or at least every 2 days. You need to write back-up content for your blog pages that readers will gravitate towards. At the very least, five good anchor articles are recommended- and these articles should not be disguised sales pages! Then there is the weekly newsletter; as your blog gains a following, people will be subscribing to your site. It is a good idea to e-mail them a weekly synopsis of your posts or perhaps a completely new and unrelated article. Finally, as if all that were not enough, you will be spending some time doing web site backup, content editing, and research for future posts and articles.

2. Blogging is a business.

Blogging is a business, and like any business, it needs to be for-profit. While it is understandable that businesses often have start-up costs, eventually those costs need to be outweighed by profits. Keeping this in mind, your blog needs to focus on a topic that interests people and will generate traffic to your site. This way, your ads will be clicked on and purchased from. It is also imperative that, whatever topic you choose for your blog, you are perceived as an expert in that field. Keep in mind that you don’t necessarily have to be an expert- only that you are perceived as one. Why? Well, would you go to a butcher to have your tooth filling replaced? No, you wouldn’t. Likewise, people are not going to visit your blog if they feel that you are not an expert in the subject matter about which you are writing. So, choose a hot topic for your blog and make sure that it is a topic you’ll be able to research or at least form a credible opinion on. Of course, it helps immensely if you are also interested in your blog’s subject matter.

3. Blogging must be advertised.

Remember how I stated that you need to spend at least 20 hours a week on your bbbwwwogginngg? I didn’t include the time you will also be spending advertising your blog. Submission of blog-related articles to article directory sites, posting of press releases and classified ads, searching out other like-minded blog sites and making comments- all this is required for effective advertising of your blog. Some people go one step further and advertise via Google AdWords and the like. After all, there is no point in having a business if your potential customers are not aware of it.

4. Blogging must be worthwhile to the reader.

No one wants to read about how your cat spit up two hairballs today. Or about how smart your baby is. People gravitate towards blogs for one of several reasons: the blog provides valuable information, it teaches, or it entertains. So, a blog about stock options will be visited. Even a blog about the juicy gossip on a movie star will be visited. But your blog about your family get-together over Thanksgiving will not be visited.

So, in conclusion, do you think you have what it takes to run a blog? It isn’t the easiest thing in the world, and it will cut into your social life for sure. However, the deep personal satisfaction of having your own web site can’t be beat. And the money that results from people visiting your site- well, that doesn’t hurt either.

Censorship on the Internet

Should censorship on the Internet be encouraged or discouraged? At times, it is almost dangerous to think about what is floating out there on the Internet for everyone to see. It almost seems that despite our best efforts, there is nothing that we can truly ever do to prevent children from coming across something that they shouldn’t. However, at the same time, we want to be able to feel like we can go on and surf the Internet without finding things that we aren’t particularly interested in seeing. For example, just the other day, I was looking up a term for some research that I was doing. All of a sudden the results came back with a bunch of pornographic material.

Everywhere you turn, it seems like there are censorship issues. When you go to a bookstore, there are the magazines in the plastic wrap that are placed out of reach of children. When you go to the movies, there are ratings that are put in place so that young people won’t be allowed to see the movie or so that others will know ahead of time whether or not the movie will be offensive. But slowly, quietly, over time, it seems like perhaps we are becoming more of a censor-free society in a lot of ways. The other day, I was watching a television show during prime time hours (hours when kids are awake and potentially watching television) while I was folding laundry. Keeping in mind that the show I was watching was actually suited for a younger audience, I was surprised and shocked when I heard how some of the main characters were speaking to one another. Was this what kids today were watching?! No wonder studies are showing that children are maturing faster than ever.

It seems that there are so many sexual innuendos in every piece of media that you watch (children movies included) that it becomes difficult to get away from it. From commercials for adults that air during the middle of the day to somewhat sexually charged sitcoms and movies, should we begin to reconsider the rules on censorship? If that is the case, then the way things are now- we would be forced to censor almost everything that aired on televisions! When you talk about censorship, however, you cannot help but bring up the issue of freedom of speech. Shouldn’t people have the right to do and say as they please….as long as they aren’t hurting any one else?

On that note, is our lack of censorship hurting younger people? What can be done about it on the Internet that we aren’t already doing? Obviously, no matter how hard we try to censor things on the Internet, it seems like a new loophole is born; a new spammer spamming; a new hacker hacking every minute. It is inescapable. Perhaps if we talk to our children and simply make them more aware of the hidden dangers that often lay lurking in URLs and in various search terms….perhaps they will take it upon themselves to avoid certain sites or certain areas of potential danger. I guess you could say that it is sort of similar to the whole “stranger danger” that parents teach their kids at an early age.

Automatic Messages on Twitter

If there is one thing that is annoying about Twitter, it is the fact that people sign up for automatic messages that post on other peoples profiles once they are added as a follower. For instance, the other day, I saw a couple of profiles that I wanted to follow, so I did. A few minutes later, I received what I thought was a direct message (or ‘DM’ as it is known on Twitter) from the specific person that I had followed. However, once I read the message, I very quickly realized that it was not a personal message sent by the person but, rather it was an automated message that the person had set up when they signed up for Twitter. I later wound up deleting this person.

The whole point of Twitter and/or any other social networking site is so that people can interact with one another and start conversations, engage in conversation, etc. How are you supposed to talk to someone if he or she isn’t even there though? There is no staying power in a “conversation” in which the other person is never around or simply cannot afford the time it takes to send you a personal, non-automated message.

Most of the time, you can find people to talk with or argue with on Twitter. The best way to do this is to use the search function to find topics that you are the most interested. So, for instance, if you are an athlete who likes to play soccer, you might type in the term “soccer” and see what comes up. The search results will typically produce a list of Twitter profiles along with the pertinent text to which the item you just searched for is mentioned. From there, you can click through any of the profiles (unless the profiles are set to private) to get a better idea of who that particular person is. By looking at someone’s tweets, you can not only see how often they log into Twitter, but you can also see what kinds of things interest them based on the various conversations that they are having. Additionally, nine times out of ten, you can almost immediately tell if the person has a hidden agenda.

From my experience, the twitter users who tend to gravitate towards automatic messages are those who are on Twitter to promote their businesses and/or those twitter people who have so many followers that they simply cannot keep up with all of the personal messages to each and every person. While the topic is up for debate, it seems as if automatic direct messaging (DM’ing) on Twitter not only looks and feels impersonal, but it gives off the impression that you really don’t care enough to send someone a message. If that’s the case and you simply cannot keep up with your twitterers, there is no rule saying that you have to have automated direct messaging in place. In fact, I think most Twitter users would prefer no message to one that came from a computer.

Reciprocal Linking Techniques

Getting into the top ten ranks of a search engines for a particular set of key words is the success parameter for a website. Each search engine has different norms to decide the toppers. I shall be discussing those of search engines that count.

Google takes link popularity into consideration for their rank list. Link popularity is roughly the number of other sites that have a link to your directory. To get link partners you need to identify sites that have similar content. Send requests to such sites for an exchange and reciprocate by putting their links on your site. This requires correspondence with the webmasters. Include a summary of your site and your willingness to display their link on your page in return for the same favor from their part.

For beginners, it may take a couple of months to bring in adequate number of link partners. While the new partners start trickling in, ensure that their links appear on your site and at the same time check out for your link on their pages.

To find prospective partners I usually do a search using keywords or simply search for “link exchange”. You need to identify similar sites by going through each result and also have to make sure that they have a link exchange facility.

Initiating the process will slowly start building traffic to your site which will have a direct impact on your popularity with the search engine. The initial trickle will evolve in to a cascade and there will be no turning back.

The advance of IT has opened up whole new avenues for minting money. Internet is teeming with millions of users. I have learned from experience that a strategic input of ideas and proven methods do wonders in the affiliate marketing scenario.

Of course you need to have a website to begin with. It is the traffic to your site that brings in all the cash. Who is the pied piper that lures net surfers to a particular page? It is the same method, which is split up into specific tasks, that does the trick. Since all the tools of the trade are available to every one, it is quality alone that draws the line between a popular link and a site that in a liability.

The links placed in your posts or articles on other directories is a major source for traffic. Having published an article with a link necessarily need not make a reader want to visit your site. The contents should be rich and informative enough to compel a visitor to click on the link. Some times I make the curiosity factor come into play. Make them curious enough to click on the links.

So it is the quality and quality alone of your articles that count. The standard and reputation of the directories where you put in your posts also do matter a lot.

A quality post will not look like an advertisement and instead imparts great tips and knowledge to its users. This builds your goodwill along with repeated visits of users. So do not stop after having posted a few articles and gained a lot of visitors. Keep up the articles adhering to their good quality content and identifying new forums, blogs and directories to put in your posts.

How You Can Make Money With Your Niche – 3 Proven Methods

You may have heard before that the best way to make money is through niche marketing. And that is absolutely the case. However, many people do not understand exactly what is meant by the term “niche marketing” nor do they know how to use this ability to increase their earning potential. Below you will find some advice and strategies that can steer you in the right direction.

What is a Niche?

A niche is basically a targeted market. If you were selling clothes, for example, you might have a niche involving a certain style of clothes, perhaps gothic clothes for teenagers. A niche is basically your little portion of a larger market. Let us say you wanted to operate a stationery store online but you realize there is tons of competition.

What do you do? Well, you could focus on a particular niche: baby related cards, wedding invitations, religious cards. Each of these is a different niche within that bigger category. You can make a name for yourself in that niche despite all of the competition.

Method #1: Learn about Your Market

To be successful in your niche, you have got to learn about your niche. The best way to do this is by reading to find out what people are looking for. Go to forums where their issues would be discussed. Read magazines where their interests are written about and where they will respond through letters to the editor.

Talk to them directly through message boards. Start a blog and interact with them through comments and links. By immersing yourself in the niche, you will have a much better understanding of your market.

Method #2: Resist the Temptation to Expand

Once you start seeing some success in your niche, you will be tempted to expand. Do not do that just yet. You want to remain focused on your niche for as long as possible. Most businesses begin eroding their profits and success the minute they start trying to please another audience. You can not please your niche and the general population. But you can find tie-ins.

If you do want to expand, look for things that might also be of interest to your audience. For example, if your niche is selling products related to Japanese animation and manga, expand into other forms of Japanese entertainment that would appeal to the same viewers and readers, such as Asian horror movies.

Method #3: Appreciate Your Market

A few years ago, a magazine went out of business after only publishing a couple of issues because the editor continued to belittle and jokingly mock the very people who were his readers. The magazine was very niche oriented and when this occurred, he alienated the people who had made him successful in other aspects of that niche market.

Do not follow his lead. Instead, always show respect for the niche market, even if it is not something you have an interest in. Even better, choose a niche in your market that you will enjoy. Your market will respond to your passion for your products, become more loyal and will be more eager to buy.
