Exposition Part II: Why Are You Annihilating Your Usana Business?

So now you’ve learned that all this nonsense you are told to do by corporate and your upline is not helping you but it is helping the company.
And that’s not all bad, is it? I mean, we all want our companies to be successful and stick around for decades to come.
But here’s the real downer… All this stuff they tell you to do hurts you and your business in so many, many ways.
Let’s take a look at this from the position of a brand new rep or associate:
The company knows that when a rep signs up the first thing he or she is told to do is to make a list of 100 people including friends and family.
Let’s keep the statistics low just to err on the side of being conservative. So out of those 100 names, you maybe sign up 10 people. Even if only 1 or 2 out of that 100 become business builders, you still were able to drop about 8 more new signups averaging a few hundred bucks.
These aren’t big numbers so just add them up in your head.
Next, the average life of a rep is 2.5 months. So even if you only stay on as a rep for 2.5 months, you still exposed 10 additional people to Usana and they all placed orders.
Now don’t forget about the 2 out of 100 names that want to build a business with Usana. What are they told to do first? You got it! Make their list of 100 names. And out of that 100 names, maybe 15 order and 3 want to become business builders…
I think you get the picture. And now you understand why this system works so well, FOR THE COMPANY.
And on top of all those great stats, you get to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars every year attending rah-rah events so you can watch that 1 to 2% of the reps strut across the stage sharing with you their story about how they did it and you can too.
Well I’m here to tell you that there is a better way, a way that will guarantee success and a way that really will change your life. And the best part of this is that you really do get to run your business from home. What a cool concept, a home-based business that you can truly work from home. Wow.
1. Stop trying to recruit everyone into your Usana business. Not everyone is cut out for network marketing and not everyone is your prospect. And I hate to be the one to tell you this but not everyone cares about your company’s products. That’s just the truth of the matter.
Finding your target market is key. But you can’t learn how to do that overnight. It’s just like marketing for every other business in the world. Your job is to find those who have a want, need or desire for your product.
2. Stop promoting your company and upline. No one cares about who founded the company or how long it has been around. They don’t care about the who’s who and they could care less about the latest techy stuff.
Every time you position your company or your upline for that matter as the expert, you are doing yourself a great disservice. You are basically telling your prospect that you have no idea what you are doing but you may be able to find someone else who is smart enough to answer their questions.
3. Don’t try to become a superstar at marketing your business. You have learn how to market yourself. You do this by promoting the products or services and positioning yourself as the expert. You don’t have to know everything about every product or service but pick a few and become an expert. That is how you acquire buyers and out of those buyers will evolve your business builders.
It has been proven time and time again that if you are not passionate about your product or service you will not succeed in the relative business. If you are only looking for opportunity seekers then that is exactly what you are going to get. And when the next opportunity comes along they will run from you and to the next greatest thing coming their way.
Instead of blowing all this money in promoting your upline and/or company, start spending the money on promoting yourself. This is how it’s done in every other industry so why are we trying to change the business model just for our businesses. Let’s do what works!
