I am sure you have heard the saying: “Treat and Move Your Feet.”When you are treating for yourself (”affirmative praying” for those who have not heard the term Treatment before), treating and moving our feet is exactly what you have to do.Does that mean you have to make it all happen? What does “Treat and move your feet” really mean? It absolutely does NOT mean that after you do your treatment, you set about making your demonstration happen. That is sheer human will power. That is not treatment a…

Are You Ready for Your Demonstration?

We have the ability to direct the Law of the Universe to produce what we want to experience. Have you done treatments that have not demonstrated yet? Are you blocking your Good? There are many factors that go into a treatment not demonstrating. There could be doubt in your thinking. There could be feelings that oppose the demonstration. There could be subconscious beliefs that have not been healed. But here is something perhaps new to consider: Are you willing to live in the changes your demonstr…

Intelligence vs. Intellect

Intelligence, Intellect. Often interchangeable words. But not in the study of Metaphysics. One is our connection with Spirit. The other, sometimes a tether that keeps us very much Human. Let’s not confuse our Spiritual Intelligence with our Human Intellect. Spirit has many descriptive names in New Thought. Divine Mind, First Cause, God, Universal Intelligence. Universal Intelligence is the everywhere-present all-knowingness of Spirit. Universal Intelligence knows all things and everything becaus…

Desire and Expectation

The Law of Attraction has been well publicized lately, with the release of the movie: “The Secret”, and other authors and speakers discussing its merits and workings on radio, talk shows, in books, etc. The Law of Attraction is really part of a bigger LAW — the Universal LAW — the Law of Cause and Effect, the Law of Mind that Ernest Holmes discusses. How is the Law of Attraction part of the Law of Cause and Effect? The Law of Attraction is set in motion when you create a Cause that will attract…

7 Basic Steps to E-Publishing

7 Basic Steps to E-Publishing by Derek Wood

Ok, first we will take a moment just to make sure that you know what an info-product is. Information products are basically a book, video, or audio clip that teaches someone else how to do something. This can be as small as a few pages, a ten minute video, or a week long audio seminar. It all depends on what information is being provided, and how much there is to learn.

Now that we know what an info product is, let’s talk about how to get started with creating your own products.

Step 1) You first need to know what it is that you know a lot about. Take a moment to think of several topics that you know well. Can you carve statues with a chainsaw? Are you an excellent poker player? Perhaps you have a method of saving money on daily household items that no one has heard of before. Anything that you can do, that other people might be interested in learning, or that will benefit them, if they can do it too is considered a great product.

Step 2) Now make a simply list of your topic and all the things that you know about that topic. The better your list, the more effective your writing process will be.

Step 3) Take a moment to organize your list into an outline based on categories. If you’re writing about carving with a chainsaw, you might have a list of which chainsaws to buy as one category, and 10 best types of wood to use as another.

Step 4) As with step 2, you will now list everything you know about each sub-category you listed. Again, try to be as detailed as you can. You will be providing these details to your readers.

Step 5) Ok, now you can get started writing what you already know. You have created a list of your main topic, several sub-topics, and hopefully some text about what you know about each topic. During this step you will simply expand on this by writing out a few paragraphs about your topics and sub-topics. Try to write from the heart, as if you were simply sharing the information with a friend. Do not worry at this point about grammar and structure; you will be able to correct any problems with that later.

Important notes for step 5. If you are not comfortable writing out your product yet, try breaking it down into sections. Take each topic and write a small stand-alone article about that topic. Then go back and do this for each topic. You can then combine your articles into one larger book.

You will basically use the same process for audio of video products, as these products will still need a list of topics to discuss. The only difference is that you will be talking, and if you wrote it all down, then at least you have a script to follow.

Step 6) Proofreading. This is an essential part of your product. Make sure that you take the time to read it, and re-read it for errors and context. If you are unsure, then consider having a friend or family member read it. No one likes to see errors in printed materials, especially if it was your own error.

Step 7) Now all you have left to do is to put it all together. You now have your product topics, some content, and it has been written and proofed. Now you need to get it published through a publisher, convert it to a PDF File, or record it as necessary.

That’s it. You’re done with the product creation process. Now that you’re done, you can move on to the hard work. Selling your product!

Write An Ebook as An Experiment

       By:  MarginsXs

        Kathleen Krueger

Writing an ebook is a relatively easy thing to do, without a compiler, and even without a lot of word processing experience.  Every-time I read a “How-To” on writing articles or an ebook, I’m reminded of all those writing exercises in my high school and English classes.  I wasn’t intimated, I just groaned………a lot.

So why aren’t more folks writing ebooks?  Why do I hear them getting all wound up thinking about it, but never really get it off the ground? I have found it goes something like this:  the Idea is great (My Name in Lights), my ideas are ok (my family still loves me even they might not be), but (it’s over right about here) WHO out there wants to hear about it?  Who would buy it? Who would find it valuable, and for sure, there is someone out there who is better and more knowledgeable than I. Where’s the money in it anyway?

AND besides, I don’t know how to start, what’s important, or what would be a good way of writing. WHO out there wants to go through it?

If you find this sounds like you, I encourage you to try this experiment. Write one anyway, and circulate for free, and see what results you get.  There is a simple way of going about it.

Guideline one: Ask yourself some questions, and get focused on your goal.

-Does your ebook present (anyway you can get it on paper) useful information and is it current and up-to-date?

-Does is have the potential to positively affect the lives of the readers?

-Read Seth Godin’s blog article, “You Should Write an Ebook.” http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog/2007/03/you_should_writ.html

His post captures the basic  concept that good ideas are worth spreading.  And the benefits of circulating a good idea using something as viral as the WWW can be beyond calculation. The link “the simple details on how to do it” takes you to ten, free, steps.   The mechanics of how to draft an ebook really is simple, and any mystic held about production  should be dispelled.

Guideline two: Circulate it, and watch what happens.  Overall, an ebook, this form of the written word, “brings attention to”.  No one is going to give you much if your idea, or product, can’t  or isn’t going to “bring attention to”.  Practically speaking for a moment, you can always monetize your ebook, lets say with affiliate links and associations.  Just remember, it is your idea that will bring people to those links.

So, simple!  Give it a go!

As a note, I have to say, if you fail, this has to be one of the most graceful ways of failing.  Your bad idea, attached to your good name, will most likely NOT be remembered.  There is no need for shades, and no one will point you out on the streets.  Low risk failure, everything to win.

Good writing!

My Ebook Library V1.01 Beta

I found a free software to help me organize my multitude of ebooks! This piece of freeware, my Mitch Keeler, is being tested right now to see how useful it can be. I have a great deal of my ebooks in files, either on my hard-drive or on my server. There is so much information I need to keep track of, that there seems to be no wrong way to go about this.

(copy/paste in browser if necessary)

I have most of my ebooks in zip format, and at this time, it doesn’t seem to hinder the upload process.

Everyone is sure to hear more, later, on how I liked and applied this software. For now, its fun and easy to use. The instructions are well-written.

Sony Ebook Reader

by MarginsXs

I’m not a gizmo freak, but I do like my toys.

The Sony Reader is a product I can’t wait to check out.  For those of you, who are like myself, carry around a jump drive from computer to computer, this reader looks incredibly intriguing.  Because this 3 G  multitasking device is priced at $300.00, I’m not down at Borders right now checking it out.  The article about this reader is located at:

Mobilwhack: http://www.mobilewhack.com/reviews/sony_reader_ebook.html

The article  was posted in April, 2006, and at that time, announcing this

 reader as a ‘will debut’.

(More photos are at: More photos:

When I do run across this enticing technology, I’ll be checking out the features the article boasts of: high resolution/high contrast, light-weight, durable, 5 inches thin and carries like a small paperback, Sony Connect service, and displays Adobe PDF and JPEG photos.

Secretly, I am hoping these readers become largely popular.  You know what that means: soon they will be better and less expensive.

Where To Buy Your e-Book Covers

                                                                 by Dan J. Fry

        c.2003-2004

         All Rights Reserved

Visual appeal is the first step toward making a sale online. People have a great ability to scan a web page quickly before reading anything about a site. Its important to capitalize on this aspect by providing a great visual stimulus. e-Book cover art has come a long way in the past 5 years. High density graphics can really make your product stand out, labeling it with a high degree of professionalism and credibility.

Throughout the course of my research into the best design tools I have uncovered that the saying “you get what you pay for” holds all too true with cover design. Here is a review of my results. It is broken down into two categories: (1)software, and; (2) design services.

Software/Templates

If you perform a search on Google of e-book covers there really is only a few software products that dominate the first few pages of results.

(1) eCover Generator by Armand Morin The cost, $97, is about the price of some personally designed single covers. It is the first major player is eCover software. You can create 2d and 3d book and software boxes, and recent upgrades enable you to create cd and spiral notebook covers as well. No other software needed to use eCover Generator. Armand is giving away 6 other e-books with purchase. Very professional looking samples created with this software. Windows 95/98/2000/ME/XP compatible. http://www.ecovergenerator.com

(2) eBook Cover Central This is actually a mix between templates and design service, not software. They will design your cover starting at $39.95. This is not a bad price considering some charge upwards of $100. You also receive three different images sizes of your design. Template packages start at $9.95 for 25 pre-made templates. You only need to insert your text and any other pictures that you wish to have on the cover. For $49.95 you can purchase a lifetime Gallery membership, entitling you to over 540 images and templates. http://www.ebookcovercentral.com

(3) Cover Software Pro This software, priced at $97, is actually a plugin for Adobe Photoshop. So, you need to have it (~$200) in order to use the software to create your cover. It also comes with a 40 minute instructional video on using the software to design not only covers but entire web sites. The samples displayed at the site look quite nice. Apart from having to purchase Photoshop, this appears to be a good deal. http://www.coversoftware.com

(4) Online Web Creations offering free covers without text. All images are fixed. There is a link through their site to a utility for adding text. Fairly limited but it is free. These are not the highest quality images, but I suppose you get what you pay for! http://www.onlinewebcreations.com/ebooks.html

Design Services

There are more companies offering services to design and produce a one time cover than there are software products. I cannot tell one from the other. All appear to produce quality products. I also am not sure what they use as graphical software, but I imagine it is something along the lines of Adobe Photoshop, 3D Studio, Micrographix, or something similar.

(1) Killer Covers e-Book covers designed specifically for your product at $117. They also design software boxes and e-zine covers. I recommend taking a look at the samples. Very professional results. http://www.killercovers.com

(2) eBook Cover Art This is not software but a service. $99 for a professionally designed e-book cover. Nice graphics but the site is rather unconvincing. http://www.ebook-cover-art.com

(3) Dynamite Covers Professionally designed covers starting at $99.95. This company is owned by Simon Grabowski, CEO of GetResponse autoresponder, Implix Corp. After processing your payment online you are taken to a form which will let you choose your style and provide more personal information such as title, your name, business/product topic, etc. The guarantee a cover in 5 days or less from the date of order. Booklets, newsletters, web-based membership cards, CD and video boxes, and tapes are all available. Your finished cover is sent to you as an optimized graphic by either e-mail or over the web. http://www.dynamitecovers.com

(4) Perfect Covers Covers designed on an individual basis, starting at $87. You can choose from e-book, report, or e-zine cover, software box, report cover, membership card. In 3d you can request multiple sizes. For a flat 2d image you receive the graphic in three different sizes. You can receive add-ons such as a matching web site header for an additional cost. http://www.perfectcovers.com

(5) Max Covers e-Book covers and e-book mini-site graphics all in a single package for $149.99. The package includes a 3d image of your cover in three different sizes, matching mini-site header, matching order button, a 2d cover image, a matching footer image, and a matching background image for your site. Site owned by and design work by Max Rylski. Two years experience in site and graphic design. He offers a 72 hour turnaround time on the first draft of your cover. One very nice bonus is that he includes the cover design Photoshop files along with the fonts used just in case you need to modify anything at a later date. http://www.maxcovers.com

(6) Absolute Covers Will design e-book, cd, e-zine and magazine covers as well as covers for reports and such. You must contact them for a free quote. Offers anywhere from 48 hour to 5 days for a finished product. You don’t have to pay until you are satisfied with your product. Quite unheard of in this business. You will also get a banner image, order button, a basic web site template, a 2d image of your cover, and a matching icon. http://www.absolutecovers.com/5/index.php

Unless you knew about the contents of a book prior to purchasing it, would you buy a book with a torn, faded, or even blank cover? I am betting you will say no. I know the title would need to be very compelling to convince me to purchase. This is why it’s important to have a professional design for your info product cover. On the inside its content that matters. But to stimulate a sense of credibility, you need to ‘tickle’ the visual appeal.

Ebook Security

Technorati Profile

I just read a good entry on ebook security, and three things that one can do to hinder ebook thievery. (Is that even a word?).  In any case, the blog and blog entry is:

How do I stop people stealing my ebook?…http://www.igottatellyou.com/blog/how-do-i-stop-people-stealing-my-ebook/

by Jim Edwards

It is a worthwhile entry detailing three ways to secure ebooks:

-a locking program.  If I’m not mistaken, come ebook generators come with a locking program.  I just, briefly, checked out eBook Gold, and I think this is the case.  It is nice to know other locking programs are available.

-PDF file password protection

-changing one’s URL.

If there are any other methods, that would be great to know.

And thanks Jim Edwards for the blog spot!
