A friend told me of her incredible search to find a pop-up window for WordPress.  She did find one for $97.00.  Ouch!  By sheer luck, she located the exact same one AND for FREE!  
She told me about it before she wrote it up on her blog! And you guessed it: the pop-up is the one you encountered when you first arrived at this site.  It was no problem to download and use. And FREE, FREE, FREE!!

 There were a few other plugins that are FREE!!  I downloaded two more, and so far, so good!!
