Link Building Through Article Marketing – 7 Must Know Tips
Searching for inbound links?
Want to improve your ranking on Google? Are you looking for a solid, reliable method to consistently build large numbers of inbound links over time?
You’ve come to the right place. Read on…
I have been working on my website for three years now. When I started, I had no inbound links. I was getting traffic from MSN and a little from Yahoo but none from Google.
Today most of my traffic comes from Google. As you know inbound links are important in the Google “algorithm.” It was part of Larry Page’s thesis when he started his search engine experiment.
I’ve tried a lot of different ways to build links. And, after three years, I’ve concluded that the best method is publishing articles through places like Ezinearticles and Isnare.
1. Keywords
Go to SEO Book.com. You’ll find a free keyword tool. Play around with it. Find some keywords that are popular to your subject area. Use them for topics. Work the keyword in a number of times in the article. Use it in the headline.
2. Titles
Article titles or headlines are critical. One of my first articles that I published with Ezine had a very bland title. It got very few views and was published very few times. Then I read Rosalind Gardner’s “Super Affiliate Handbook” and everything changed. She has a great piece on creating interesting article titles. She calls it “The ‘Secret’ Ingredient Every Article Needs.”
Use numerals in the titles. For example, “8 ways to…” or “7 tips to….” And use words like “avoid,” “how to,” “tips” or secrets”. You can probably find some sources on the internet with ideas on headline writing.
Creating snazzy titles is “must know” information so don’t neglect it.
3. Use Proper Grammar and Punctuation
You want webmasters to pick up your articles and post them on their websites and blogs. They may be turned off by bad grammar or incorrect punctuation. Your article will reflect on their site. So make it look good. Use Microsoft Word or WordPerfect and keep the spell checker and grammar checker on at all times.
4. Proofread
James Michener used to say he was not a great writer but he was a great proofreader. After your article is finished, print it out. It is much easier to spot errors on the printed page. Get a red pen. Read the article slowly and carefully. Pretend you are someone else. A competitor, for example. She would find errors in your text. You can do the same. Fix them.
5. Article Submission
There are hundreds of places to submit your article. My current favorites are Ezinearticles.com and Isnare.com.
Ezinearticles has a minimum word requirement of 250 but is very strict about its editorial guidelines. I have published articles at Ezinearticles.com and each article gets a PR (page rank) 2 from Google. This is good. Very good actually. And Ezinearticles is basically the Harvard Law Review of article publishing.
Isnare.com has a minimum word requirement but is much more relaxed editorially. I find I can publish more articles for my time with Isnare even with the higher word requirement. With Ezinearticles I am continually rewriting to meet their strict standards.
There are many other article repository sites and you can find them with a simple search on Google.
6. Distribution
Just getting the article published in a repository is only half the battle. Some webmasters will pick up your articles from the repositories. But, ideally, you want the broadest possible distribution for your article because that way more webmasters become aware of it and publish it.
One way to do that is through “article announcement lists.” These are mostly Yahoo Groups. You can find them through a search on Yahoo. David Viney also publishes a list on page 159 of his very fine book “Getting to the Top on Google.”
For my purposes I have found I get the broadest possible distribution when I publish at Isnare.com. For a small fee ($2.00 per piece) they send the article out to gazillions of sites. And, I start noticing the inbound links multiplying more rapidly. So I pay the $2.00 and feel it is worth the money.
There are other methods of achieving broad distribution. There is waffleware that Rosalind Gardner recommends and claims to use herself that does the same thing. It is rather pricey but if you are writing a lot of articles maybe it is worth the money
7. Resource Box
This is the area after the article where you can put your info. The article is your “give” and the resource box is your “take” as they say at Ezinearticles. There is a whole technology on how to write a concise effective resource box to maximize your return. You can find some great articles on it at Ezinearticles.com. Be sure to include one of the main keywords from your site in your link’s “anchor text.”
Conclusion
Article marketing can generate massive numbers of inbound links. A nice side benefit is that they will also bring you traffic. It takes some time to learn but it is a solid link building and marketing strategy.

Affiliate Marketing Success
Affiliate marketing success is one of the easiest ways to generate income online.
There are really only two things you have to do to get Internet Marketing working for you!
You have to find a good offer and then find the right customers to buy it.
In affiliate sales half of this (the big half) is done already! That’s a huge advantage.
So affiliate marketing boils down to getting people to see your affiliate link…click on it…see the offer…buy the product…and repeat.
Now…go find a good offer at Clickbank. Just get it done. Now you have something to sell.
And you have what is known at Clickbank as a “hoplink”. That’s your secure affiliate code that INSURES you get paid!
Now all you have to do is get people to your offer that are interested in your offer. I know that sounds simplistic…but…if you are selling “Horse leads” you want people who typed into Google “Horse leads”
That would be your keyword and that is how you “sort” your traffic.
How to do it?
Twitter Profile Branding
Twitter has become one of the most popular social networking sites today, overshadowed only by biggies like Facebook and MySpace. It is no wonder that many people are coming aboard Twitter to promote their business. As Twitter would say it, many entrepreneurs are Tweeting they way to online visibility and hence, success.
If you are on Twitter too, what you really need to have is a good Twitter profile and then you need to brand it. The first part is relatively easy and does not take much time. Everyone knows how to make a profile on a social networking website. Just be true to the details and do not go overboard with the hype or the sales pitch and it would count as a good business profile. There are various customizable options on Twitter itself. You could use these to make your profile look different. And if it is some real difference that you are hankering for, you could go for some patches and downloads that are compatible with Twitter. You could find these by conducting relevant searches on popular search engines.
You need to keep your business profile page different but at the same time subtle. Over-the-top does not work in today’s times, and that applies to Twitter profiles too.
But, what really takes time and effort is the branding part. Branding is where you are making your business visible. Real branding is when your business becomes popular not just on Twitter but even outside it. Remember that branding is not just about the colors that you use and the font that you use; it has more to do with the recall value of your business name itself. When you are on Twitter, Twitter business branding will refer to the way in which your Twitter account name appears and becomes popular.
There is much to be gained through Twitter business branding. A lot of enterprising folk are selling these in the same way they sell domain names. They build a profile page, brand it and when it becomes popular, they sell it for thousands of dollars. This takes some time and effort, but it does give a very rich dividend at the end of the day.
One way to go about Twitter business branding is to first establish a website on Twitter and then use the same look and feel as the corporate website. For example, if you have a business website that’s named http://www.xyz.com, you make a Twitter profile page that’s names http://www.twitter.com/xyz and then give this page the same appearance as the corporate page. This way, you are making your Twitter page an extension of your existing page.
The benefit of this is that people can search your Twitter page with your business brand name. They are able to find things more easily and also the recall value of your brand increases.
But you need to be quick about this. Time is of the essence. If you have a popular business that’s not on Twitter yet, someone might use your brand name on Twitter. This is a clear case of plagiarism, but you can’t help it once it is done. The best thing for you is to realize the importance of Twitter business branding right now and go about it when there is still time.

Using Social Media To Drive Qualified Traffic To Your Website
Social media is the utilization of online communities to promote sales, create business opportunities, and increase the exposure of a particular company. In today’s world, we spend more time online than anywhere else! Social media allows businesses to tap into the steady source of users that are registered through popular online communities. By reaching out to users through these web communities, companies can then create a rapport with the average consumer. Businesses can understand what their target audience is and how to fulfill their needs.
Popular social media sites that are usually targeted include Digg, StumbleUpon, http://Del.icio.us, Facebook, Twitter and many more. These sites give businesses the opportunity to keep in touch with the world and familiarize users with their brand name. Providing updates about various products, and latest advancements of a company, gives consumers something to think about. These updates can lead interested and curious users back to the company website to find out more information. Businesses can discover new target audiences that they hadn’t previously considered through this method of marketing. From analyzing the type of users who showed interest in their company, they can then alter their marketing techniques to effectively increase sales. Being linked to online communities will give businesses and their websites a steady flow of fresh traffic.
Companies interacting through online communities will maximize their number of back links which will help their SEO campaigns. The popularity of a brand name or company on a web community all depends on how much they can provide to their loyal consumers. The more you give, the more you will get in return. For example, a company promoting special offers, discounts, imagery, video and gaming entertainment, will be more popular than companies that merely register and provide a paragraph of information. The idea is not be as focused on selling and to be more interested on putting your customer at ease. By providing entertainment and information for your customer this will add a personal appeal to your brand name and they will be satisfied knowing that you’re not just trying to sell your product.
If you don’t know where to begin, using social networks to drive quality traffic to your website can be a confusing experience. It is important to first assess the quality of the community you want your company to be a part of and whether it will attract the right kind of consumers. If a community will not bring you quality traffic to your website then there is no point. If you have a website that sells dentures you definitely don’t want to waste your time joining a community catered to younger generations! Maybe a social network for 50+ would be more ideal? Once you have narrowed down the network websites right for your company to be affiliated with, you should then scope out if there is already a company profile existing. If this is the case, you will have to formulate a strategy to have your profile stand out from the rest.
Creating a profile through a social media network may not be something that will click right away. Social networking is definitely a trial and error method which will give you the results you need only by checking out what works for you and your business.
